Explore luxury homes along the coastline

The day began at the Public Dock in downtown Vancouver, where Peter P and xiao zhang Zhang met under a clear blue sky before setting out aboard the Crew Open 37 Axopar.

The yacht carried them out past Lions Gate Bridge and along the West Vancouver coastline, where green water rippled beneath forested hills. Mansions appeared one after another along the shore, no two alike, their glass walls and modern lines catching the afternoon light against the dark pines. One home stood out above the rocks, a tall glass tower rising from the cliffside, with its own beach and stone terraces below.

Further along, the trip brought them past Horseshoe Bay, the wooded hills unbroken for long stretches, the water calm and green beneath the sun. As the boat moved through the harbour, a seaplane skimmed low across the water, its white hull cutting a trail against a sky that had begun to darken with distant clouds, the city skyline and shipyards visible behind it.

By the day's end, the light had changed entirely. A low bank of fog rolled across the harbour at dusk, the sky turning soft shades of pink and blue, and a lone ship sat half-hidden in the mist with its lights glowing against the fading colour. It was a quiet close to a day spent tracing the coastline, from the bright stone and glass of West Vancouver's hillside homes to the soft, misted water at the end of the journey.
