The day
The day began at the dock and grassy field just west of Camp Artaban, at the end of Long Bay on Gambier Island, where boats gathered for the Royal Vancouver Yacht Club's Third Annual Summer Concert. Kendra Coles helped host the gathering, welcoming members as they arrived by water for the evening ahead.
People came prepared for a relaxed night outdoors, some bringing chairs and blankets to settle into the grassy field. Boats rafted together near the dock, and others stayed afloat just off the shore to take in the show from the water. The evening's entertainment was Nearly Neil, brought to Long Bay Farms by Past Commodore Webbber, filling the bay with live music as the sun moved over the trees and the mountains across the water.
The crowd settled into the field and along the shoreline, enjoying the music together as boats swayed gently at anchor nearby. It was an evening of friends, familiar faces from the club, and the easy pleasure of live music carrying across the bay.
As the concert wound down, the gathering dispersed back across the water the way it had come, boats peeling off from the raft-up and heading home under the evening sky, the sound of the music and the company of friends closing out the Third Annual Summer Concert at Long Bay.
