Yacht Meditation Retreat

The day began in white and blue, everyone gathering at Bed Well Bay in Vancouver under a wide open sky, stepping aboard Mis Dance barefoot and smiling before the boat ever left the dock.

Once out on the water, the group settled onto the deck as the city slipped away behind them and the forested shoreline came into view. A woman in white led the gathering in a seated circle, striking a singing bowl and speaking softly while the group sat with hands resting on their hearts, listening together as the boat rocked gently on the current. She held up a small brass figure to the group, and for a while everyone grew quiet, taking in the sound and the sun and the open water around them.

Between these quieter moments, there was plenty of laughter — women in white dresses laughing with their faces turned to the sky, champagne glasses in hand, hair blown loose by the wind. Friends posed together at the bow, leaning into each other, bare feet against the warm teak deck. Kandy Kat 王糖果 and Patricia Chen were among those who came along for the day, part of the circle that gathered to sit, laugh, and take in the water around Vancouver.

As the afternoon wore on, the boat moved further out, leaving a long white wake behind it, and the group spread across the deck to enjoy the sun — some in hats, some leaning on the railing, watching the shoreline and the bridge in the distance.

The day ended as it began, calm and bright, with everyone gathered loosely on deck, sun-warmed and easy, the water catching the light all the way back to shore.
