What crewopen is
crewopen.com is a community for people who boat and fish around Vancouver and the BC coast: posts, comments, profiles, and gatherings people start together. It is run by Yahull, in Vancouver, British Columbia. By using the site you agree to these terms.
This is an interim version written by our team. A version reviewed by a lawyer will replace it.
Your account
You sign in with your email or with Google. Keep your email account safe: anyone who can read it can sign in as you.
What you post
What you post stays yours. By posting it, you let crewopen show it on the site and in links to the site.
Post only what is yours to share, and only photos of people who agreed. Be civil: no harassment, hate, spam, ads that were not agreed with us, or anything illegal. We may take down a post that breaks these rules.
Weather, fishing rules and closures on crewopen are reported from official sources, with a link. They are not advice: check the official source, and decide for yourself whether it is safe to go out.
Brought in posts
Some posts are brought in from other public places, word for word, with a link to the original and the poster's name shortened. If one of them is yours, press Is this yours? on it: you can claim it (it moves to your account) or ask us to take it down.
Gatherings
A gathering is arranged by the person who starts it. Going out on the water has risks: follow the skipper's instructions, wear a life jacket, and check the weather and the rules before you go. If a gathering is paid, the price, what is included and the cancellation terms are shown before you pay.
Changes and law
We may change these terms; the date at the bottom of this page shows the latest version. These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and of Canada that apply there.
